Established in 1985, The Enchanted Florist has lead the way in producing weddings and special events in the Asheville, NC area. Head designer and owner, Janet P. Frye gives personal consultations and design excellence to each event. By actively listening to clients and giving attention to detail we personalize each wedding and create dreams come true.
“One of my first memories is laying in a field of Queen Anne’s Lace on a warm summer day watching the clouds roll by†Loving the beauty of flowers from an early age, Janet started in the floral business in Palm Springs, Calif. In 1975. She honed her design skills on celebrity clients including Liberace, Mrs. Disney, Mary Martin and others. Moving back East she entered and won numerous professional floral design competitions eventually becoming a competition judge. She taught floral design professionally for 10 years and is a contributing artist to 12 "How To" books published world wide.
In July 2009 Janet passed the rigorous tested process to become Accredited In Floral Design with the world renowned American Institute of Floral Designers (more info at www.AIFD.org). Staying current on trends by attending and participating in symposiums, conferences and design seminars keeps Janet and our staff at the pinnacle of design excellence for Asheville, NC weddings.
After owning a regular retail flower shop for 16 years, Janet closed the storefront in 2001 to follow her heart and pursue those aspects of the floral industry she loves most....weddings and parties! Through this lowering of overhead expenses and dispensing with daily interruptions The Enchanted Florist Asheville is able to offer exceptional value and unparalleled attention & service to their clients.
Using glorious seasonal flowers grown on several farms in the Asheville area is one of the joys for us as designers. Specialties such as peonies, dahlias, hanging amaranthus and many not commercially available add so much to the beauty of each wedding.
